About a year ago I was commissioned by my sister in law to make a fun personalized baby gift, for her sister who had just had her first baby. The reason why this gift was even more special is these sister in laws of mine are twins!!! The craziest part is that I live in Utah and the sister in law who asked me to make something lives in Washington DC and her twin with the new baby lives in Oklahoma. It was quite the challenge understanding exactly what she wanted and then mailing out the final product without the gift giver even being able to see the finished product.
She wanted all of the babies statistics on the glass part of a frame and then a fun quote from the father right after their baby was born. This was a fun project to make because it was so personal for me as the creator too.
Of course I forgot to take pictures while I was putting this together. To create this project I purchased an 8″x10″ black frame, I placed a piece of burlap under the glass and reattached the back. Next, I arranged all of the lettering and graphics on my computer to fit onto the glass of my 8″x10″ frame. The words that are in blue and white I pulled from the main arrangement I made. Then I cut the bulk of the wording on my personal cutting machine in black vinyl. I selected and cut a few of the words in blue and white. I centered and placed the main black vinyl arrangement on the glass of my frame then added the blue and white words to spaces I had left open.
Creating the words template took around an hour. I could have probably done it in less time if it was how I would have done it. Sometimes it is hard creating “paid” projects because there is so much pressure of having it done just right. Although I do love how it turned out!
