I purchased this coffee table at a yard sale for $5. My first thought was that it would make a nice bench seat. I got to work sewing a cushion, turns out somehow my measuremnts were off and the cushion ended up being to small! I hate when that happens, oh well not every project can turn out! This little coffee table sat and sat and sat as I looked it over and contemplated what else I could do with it.
Then the idea of making it a tall entry table came to me. Now I needed some sturdy legs to make this happen, I looked at the home improvement stores and wow were they pretty pricy! $30 per leg! I couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on the legs, when I only paid $5 for the table. a few weeks later at another yard sale I came across this coffee table, I noticed that the legs would screw off the table top. It was what I was looking for and to my surprise when I asked what the price was they said $5! Score!!!
So, I bought this table home, pulled off the legs and got to work drilling holes in the other table for these new legs to screw into. When we placed the legs on the other table it still seemed off, the legs were to short for my liking. We had to put back on our thinking caps! I ended up adding an additional 15 inches by adding 4 by 4 posts to the legs.
My Entry table now stands 36 inches tall.
I sanded the table down and painted her a pumpkin orange! She proudly sits in the entry of my family room.
