I am getting into the Halloween spirit! Now that school has started, I feel like it’s time to get going on some fall and Halloween crafts. I love Halloween it is my favorite holiday! I can never have to many decorations. I know wooden word blocks have been around forever. These really aren’t new, I decided to add one more element to my wooden word blocks to make them amazing!
I started with wooden blocks that measure 3 1/2 ” x 3 1/2″ I painted them with my amazing wood glaze for the first coat. While they were drying I used my personal cutting machine to cut out the words BOO and EEK on contact paper. I also cut 3 different fun designed stencils onto contact paper. After my wood glaze was dry, I applied the letters in the center of the wood blocks and then painted the blocks a cream color. When the paint was completely dry I applied the designed stencils over top of the cream paint and letter stencil. For the Boo blocks I painted the stencil orange on all 3 blocks. The EEK blocks I did green purple and orange paint and also added glitter while the paint was still wet. After my paint was dry I peeled off the designed stencil and then peeled off the letter. I sanded the edges of the blocks to finish them off. The was such a fun way to revamp word blocks.
