scrap cardI don’t know about you but I have tons of scrap scrapbook paper and cardstock cluttering up my craft room.  I often only use part of a sheet depending on the project and I hate to just throwing away the perfectly good unused portion so, into the scrap bin it goes!  Well my scrap bin is overflowing with scrapbook paper and cardstock.  So, for this months card group I knew I wanted to come up with a way to use some of these leftover scrap papers.  Our theme this month is blank cards, I knew I could do whatever I wanted and even if I couldn’t use the same paper on each card it would be fine.  The base of the card is white cardstock 81/2 by 11 cut in half.  This is the only part of the card that is not from my scrap bin.  I pulled out multiple colors of cardstock and  using my 2 inch circle punch began punching circles out of multiple colors of cardstock.  I punched a total of 9 circles for the base of the card.  I stamped a paisley design and the word hello on the center of my yellow circle.

I glued the yellow circle in the center of my card and then glued the remaining colored circles around the yellow circle.  Next I cut off any excess paper that did not match up with the edge of the card base.

I punched 8 smaller 1 1/4 inch circles out of patterned papers.  On 3 of the smaller circles I added a pop up dot. I then glued the smaller circles onto the bigger circles.  I added a few jewels, brads and felt flowers to give my card the finishing touch.

If you have mounds of scrap paper this is a great way to use up some of those odds and ends.
