With the holidays right around the corner, Avry and I have been planning and preparing for a girls only teen holiday party. Who doesn’t love a party with lots of prizes, gift baskets, and party favors? We have been trying to figure out fun items to add to gift baskets. I remembered a few years ago we had made these Valentine Chipboard earrings, I still had chipboard and jewelry supplies leftover to make earrings. I looked through some old holiday stamp sets and found this cute cold play stamp set from Stampin up, I knew it would be perfect to create snowmen chipboard earrings. I realize that many of you don’t own a snowman stamp set, you could also find and print a snowman face design to create your own earrings.
To create your own Snowmen chipboard earrings you will need the following supplies:
1″ chipboard circles
fish-hook earring wires
Jewelry eye loops
Versa Mark stamp pad or pen
embossing powder in black and orange
Glossy accents top coat
Modge Podge or glue
Cold Play stamp set by Stampin up or Printed Snowman face design
Embossing heat gun
1″ circle punch
Start by stamping the eyes and mouth of the snowman with a versa mark glue stamp pad onto white cardstock or, print a snowman face design onto white cardstock. Sprinkle black embossing powder over the stamped eyes and mouth of the snowman, shake excess off onto a scrap paper. Using the Heat embossing gun, heat the black powder until it sets the design.
Allow cooling for a few seconds before stamping the carrots nose using the versa mark glue stamp pad, Sprinkle orange embossing powder and shake excess. Repeat the heating process with the embossing gun. Allow to cool and then punch out the snowmen faces using your 1″ circle punch.
Glue snowmen circles onto 1″ chipboard circles using Mod Podge or other glue. Apply a thin layer of Glossy Accents all over the snowmen design, Allow to completely dry (this may take a few hours).
After the snowmen chipboard circles are dry, use a pin to poke a small hole in the center of the top of the chipboard. Then screw in the Jewelry eye loop, use a pair of pliers to open the fish-hook earring wire. slide the fish-hook earring wire through the jewelry eye loop and then close the fish-hook earring wire with the pair of pliers, repeat the process with the second earring to complete your pair.
I made 15 pairs of these fun Snowmen Chipboard Earrings. After I completed the earring we stamped a design on some red cardstock, punched holes and placed them on the card.
I can’t wait to add them to the gift baskets!!! I hope the girls will be festive and enjoy them this holiday season.
