Over the past year, I have been loving all of the decorated tiered trays. I’ve collected a few trays myself and have loved creating small decorative items to fill the trays. This cute St. Patrick’s 17 plaid block came together in about 5 minutes and, is a great touch to the tray in the center of my kitchen table.
To create your own St. Patrick’s 17 plaid block you will need:
Fabric of your choice (I chose this green plaid)
vinyl of your own color choice (I chose gold glitter)
personal cutting machine
glue or mod podge
Start by measuring your fabric to your woodblock. Then cut the fabric just slightly smaller than your woodblock. Glue, mod podge or adhere the fabric in the center of your woodblock. The fabric I used was iron-on fabric and had an adhesive on the back of it.
Using your personal cutting machine cut the number 17 to your desired size out of your choice of vinyl. Peel the number 17 off of the vinyl backing center and place onto your woodblock.
How simple was that? If you have a few pre-cut wood blocks laying around you can have this fun simple project done in 5 minutes. It would also be fun to create similar wood blocks for other holidays or seasons.
Do you have a tiered tray? How do you like to decorate it?
