Hair bows
I have never been one to really sew or work with fabric a lot(even though I have a sewing machine) but I have the desire now. It is amazing because that is all I ever remember my mother doing growing up. she would sew for hours on end and the things she has created with her serger and sewing machine are amazing. So here I am starting out small.
I read online somewhere that if you stitched a loose stich down the middle or along the sides of ribbon you could then pull one of the threads and it would create a ruffled effect. So I tried it and made a bunch of fun cute bows for my girls hair.
I am also experimenting because there are some pillows that I am dying to make that have some pretty fabric flowers on the front of them but I am not quite gutsy enough to try them yet! So I figured I could start with these and play around.
My sister in law taught us how to do the burned edge flowers quite a while ago but I haven’t done much with them. I learned though that there are only certain types of material that will curl up and not start on fire and also to layer layer layer. The more layers on those bows the cuter they turn out!
