4th of July Shutter

4th of July Shutter

Do you remember this cute Christmas Noel shutter I made last Christmas? Well I flipped that baby over and painted on a cute American Flag. This only took a little bit of time and you don’t even need a template to do the majority of this project.

I love that one craft can double into another one! The base coat is done in white paint then every other slats of two are painted red. I do still need to do a little bit more overall touch up but you get the idea!  The blue is a bit blotchy too but I keep doing touch up’s here and there as I have time. Like I said it is a little time consuming but very easy. If you choose you can use either a piece of vinyl cut in the shape of a star or you can tape it off. Cardboard cut out in the shape of a star would also be a good template to use for the shape of the star.

I also like that you can lay this project on the ground so while you are painting you can also be sitting! I’ve seen a smaller 4th of July shutter Like this on Hoosier Homemade

Doesn’t she have just the cutest site? I just need to doll mine up a little bit! Add some ribbon and fun patriotic things around it.
