My home is always busy and full of over night guests during Thanksgiving week and I know I am going to have more guests coming and going throughout the month of December. I have learned that there is nothing worse during the holiday season then a guest yelling for toilet paper from the bathroom, or having to clean up a juice spill without any paper towels.
Toilet paper!! who doesn’t need toilet paper? I loathe going into homes where they don’t stock the bathrooms with ample amounts of toilet paper. So, to avoid this problem when I have guests I make sure all 4 of my bathrooms are stocked with Angel Soft® bath tissue 12 Family Roll or 12 Big Lavender Roll. I love the larger packs of the 12 Family Roll because the pack will last me a long time.
I like to pick up my Angel Soft® bath tissue and Sparkle® paper towels at my local Family dollar because I know they will have what I need at a price that won’t break the bank. Family dollar is a convenient place for me to do all my holiday necessity shopping and I love that I can use the Family Dollar smartcoupons page to save myself even more money!
Right now through December 27th you can save 50¢ on BOTH Angel Soft® & Sparkle® (for a total of $1.00 in savings if you purchase both)
- Offer: Save 50¢ off ONE (1) Angel Soft® Bath Tissue, 12 Family Roll or 12 Big Lavender Roll
- Offer: Save 50¢ off ONE (1) Sparkle® Paper Towel, 6 Roll
I am very lucky to have a home with ample storage space to keep my bathrooms stocked with Angel Soft® Bath Tissue but I’ve had readers ask me how they can keep their bathrooms stocked when they don’t have any extra space. So, I’ll show you a fun and creative way to store extra bath tissue in your bathrooms for your guests.
First you’ll need to gather these items
3- Clean #10 tin cans
1- roll of duct tape
Fabric, scrap book paper or wrapping paper of your choosing (this project took approx. 1/4 yard of fabric or 3 ft. of paper)
1- Hot glue gun & extra glue sticks
1 – pair of Scissors
Embellishments (Lace, Ribbon, etc.)
Can opener (to remove the bottoms of the cans)
Once your items are gathered you’ll start the process! Remove the bottoms of 2 of the cans using the can opener to have both ends of the can open, leave 1 can with a bottom. If you feel the edges are sharp you can cover them in duct tape.
Next stack all 3 cans on top one another to make a long tunnel of cans. At this point hot glue all three cans together! Once all cans are glued together take your cans and lay them down on the table to measure out how much fabric you will need. I wrapped the fabric around it once to make sure I would cut enough to cover the cans. If you used a dark duct tape make sure you use a thicker fabric or thick paper so the lines of the duct tape don’t show through.
Wrap the cans in the fabric you chose and begin gluing the fabric into place.
This project is not difficult and once the fabric is glued on you can have fun by embellishing it.
I chose to leave the top open so guests can see that this is a toilet paper holder. I’ve had readers tell me if they put a lid on top of it then guests mistake it for a garbage can and we don’t want that!
The other paper product I mentioned above is the Sparkle® Paper Towels I love to keep on hand during the holidays for myself and my guests they are a thick paper towel so they can tackle either a wet OR dry job. Having Sparkle® Paper Towels on hand allows me to not be stuck with washing a lot of washcloths and dishtowels! I also love that once the product is used it can go right to the waste basket!
