Annual Halloween party – Masquerade style 2016

A year behind on this post but better late than never! Krystal and I began planning our annual Halloween party for this year (2017) when I realized I had never blogged about our party last year! The theme for 2016was Masquerade – Meaning anything involving a mask. Oooh the ladies got creative. Check out some of their darling costumes!

Isn’t this one a hoot! Can you guess what she was? Knowing I have so many photos to share but can’t put them all in this one post! Don’t forget to check out our previous years by clicking on the dates: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.  Years of fun to look through!

But let’s start out this year at the front door! While each guest arrives we always have candy count games on tables in the entry way. The object is to try to guess how many candies are in each container to win! We secretly put the number on the bottom of the treats when we make the candy counts so we can remember how many are in each one. The guests have sheets to put their guesses on.

Always having our guests bring a sweet or savory item to share makes prep so much easier. Our dinner is a pot luck of sorts. We indicate on the invitations as to what type of treat we would like them to bring. Here are some of the creative ideas that people brought.

Since everyone is mingling & eating we encourage them to look around and then go to our voting table to vote on the best food dish, most creative food dish, best costume, funniest costume, etc. There is an array of different categories that they can vote for. Here are our voting cans. I just took old soup cans, cleaned them out and wrapped them in Halloween scrap book paper.

Playing a lot of interactive games keeps the crowd having a good time. There are awards for ugliest toe nails, pretties toe nails, best joke and best mask for the masquerade.
Every year we have approximately 25 ladies show up and over 100 prizes to award (aside from our party favors) Here are some of the prizes Krystal and I worked on making over the months leading up to our party.

Lastly, these were ready and waiting at the door as the guests left the party at the end of the evening. The tag designed by yours truly!
