Antiqued Pineapple Summertime Decor plaque
I am loving all the pineapple and flamingo decor designs this summer. I recently made this fun flamingo board but, have been wanting to create something with a pineapple design. Usually, I create fun bright colored crafts for summer. When I was creating this Antiqued Pineapple Summertime Decor plaque I wanted it to have more of a high-end home decor look. I love how it turned out and think it could be a year-round decor piece if desired.
To create your own Antiqued Pineapple Summertime Decor plaque you will need:
12″ by 21″ piece of thin wood
personal cutting machine
jigsaw
sander or sandpaper
paint and spray paint colors of choice ( I used dark brown, teal, and gold)
paint brushes
contact paper
Let’s get started!
Find your desired pineapple design or cut file. Load design into your personal cutting machine program and adjust size to 11.8″ by 20″, Cut design onto contact paper.
After the design is cut remove from machine and use as a template to trace onto your piece of thin wood.
Cut out pineapple design using a jigsaw.
Paint pineapple wood cut out dark brown or desired color and allow to dry. Dry brush a light coat of teal or desired color over top of the brown but, make sure to not cover the brown. Allow for the teal paint to dry, then apply pineapple design cut from the contact paper.
Spray paint detailed pineapple design using the desired color of spray paint, I chose gold.
After the spray paint is dry lightly sand.
I am loving how this Antiqued Pineapple Summertime Decor plaque turned out.
I currently have it displayed behind the sink in my kitchen. How do you like to decorate for summer? Looking for more ideas to decorate for summertime? Check out You are the pineapple of my eye, Sun tanned toes board, and Beachaholic sign.
