April Fools Dinner
April Fools Dinner
I love April Fools Day and it is just around the corner! Any ideas of what you will be doing for pranks??? Here is a fun dinner prank that I am sure the kids will enjoy! It’s a 4 course meal all made of cupcakes!!! Now, who wouldn’t enjoy that for dinner??? The idea came from one of my all time favorite cook books Hello Cupcake. I know these may look a little intense or time consuming, they really are not. They are actually really easy. To get the shape of the drum stick you use donut holes, that you frost on top of the cupcake. Then you roll them in crushed up cornflakes. The hardest part is making the bone. Which is melted white baking chips. I put them in a Ziploc bag and clipped the corner off, then on wax paper made the bone design and let it dry. The mashed potatoes cupcake is just white frosting swirled on the top. I placed a yellow starburst for the pat of butter and then poured some caramel sauce on top for the gravy (super easy). The peas and carrots cupcake is green frosting, green Skittles (you could also use M&M’s), Then orange Starburst cut into 4ths. The last is our Chocolate cupcake for dessert (because the kids aren’t sugared up enough yet!) This one is pretty easy that I think you could do on your own!!! I hope you have a fun day full of pranks and laughter!

I absolutely love the mashed potato cupcake. It would be so funny to see the looks on children’s faces when they get near cupcakes. Haha. What a great idea!!

I mean, I know they’re real but they look like what they represent!

I never realized how much a starburst looks like a pat of butter. That’s hilarious! I really love the Skittles as peas, too. My kids would totally get a kick out of this.

That is awesome. Who doesn’t love cupcakes for dinner, though, no matter what they are. You give me a cupcake and I’ll eat it.

We’ve never really done any April Fools Jokes here – but those are super cute for a theme party! That mashed potato one is crazy realistic!
