Burlap Santa Christmas Special Delivery Sack

I’ve decided that you can never have too many Christmas decorations. This next inspiration for a Santa Special Christmas delivery sack came from Fynes Designs we love her blog and are always looking to see what fun ideas she comes up with. We fell in love with her Santa Special delivery sack the second we saw it!

We put a little twist on our Santa Special Delivery sack and decided to make it not only smaller but out of a soft burlap. We also needed to be able to use what we had on hand and be able to have minimal sewing. Here are our instructions:

First cut a Burlap strip of fabric measuring 15″ in width and 54″ in length. Then surge (or stitch) the edges of the rectangle shaped burlap to make sure the burlap doesn’t fray. This will also give the top of your bag a clean look.  Once the edges are surged then fold the burlap in half (length wise) and stitch up both sides of the burlap to create a sack.

Once the sack is finished you can move over to your personal cutting machine (we used the Silhouette for this cut)

Purchase enough iron on vinyl in the color of your choice to be able to cut the file. This is where we had fun – On Fynes Designs she offers a free cut file for this project!!! How awesome is that? Her free cut file is Here

Now we didn’t want to use the personalization on our sacks so we omitted the name portion of the cut file. It was easy to manipulate it to how we wanted it to look. Like Virginia said in her post the weeding of the vinyl is a little tedious but sooo worth it in the end. (Don’t forget to mirror your image in the software before you cut your vinyl!)

To make this as a decoration stuff it with batting, a pillow or the fake snow to make the bag look full and tie off the top of the bag with the ribbon of your choice!

We chose to do a junk bow on top!

I loved adding this to my décor! One more little tip for the Santa Special Delivery sack is if you want you don’t have to fill it with stuffing for decoration you could leave it empty and use it as a gift giving sack for someone.
