It’s all about the candy Halloween count down
How could you see this and not fall in love? Check out how cute her front porch count down is! Laura over at Corner House created a tutorial on how to make this. For the most part I followed it BUT I couldn’t do this project without my partner in crime.. Krystal – she did the stencil and I did the wood (well ok my stallion of a husband did the wood) but I cheered him on!
I did paint though –
We started out with our fence boards and my hubby cut them to size. We made our sign’s a little larger than Laura’s and we took the slats from the top to the bottom. (not showing any of the behind posts) I also had hubby put screws into the wooden slats so these babies wouldn’t come apart!
Now my dearest Krystal did the stencil part (which she cut on her cricut) she did the lettering rather large but I LOVED IT!! It was bold and you could see exactly what the sign would say from the street! She asked if we should take it smaller and I said “heck no”!! Go big or go home baby! So overall our signs turned out around 6 ft tall and 2.5 feet wide.
Here we are stenciling them with black paint – after we white washed the boards first of course!
Krystal bought some glow in the dark vinyl and cut out the numbers on her cricut then attached them to cute scrapbooking paper. I wanted the numbers to last for years to come so I took the numbers and had them all laminated!
The numbers glow in the dark and it is fun to see them glow at night! I still haven’t added a bunting yet or a cute spider (which I hope to do tomorrow) but I was so excited that I just had to show you all how darling this turned out! Thank you Laura from Corner house for the tutorial and inspiration!! Oh and Thanks to whomever posted it to pinterest for me to find! Love it!
Here is my beauty!
