DIY Patriotic Fourth of July Ribbon Wreath
I am excited to show you today on how to make your own DIY Patriotic Fourth of July Ribbon Wreath I have loved making the mesh wreaths and recently saw a ribbon wreath in the craft store. In looking over the ribbon wreaths I decided that they wouldn’t be that hard to make on my own. That is where a little research on internet came in handy. Check out this great you tube video I found on how to make your own ribbon wreath. Just slightly altering my wreath I chose not to add the tail of ribbons at the bottom. The video will give you a great start to…

Patriotic July table runner
Simple, fast and easy DIY burlap, iron on vinyl patriotic 4th of July table runner. Perfect to line your festive 4th of July backyard barbecue. During the month of July we are patriotic and celebrate all month long. Here in Utah we get to celebrate the 4th of July and also Pioneer day on the 24th. When I pulled out and set up my 4th of July décorations in late June I noticed that I was lacking in the patriotic décor department. I only had a few pieces of patriotic décor and the pieces I did have seemed like they weren’t flowing together nicely. I decided to create a Patriotic table runner to help…

Celebrate Freedom Board “Hobby Lobby Knock off”
Avry and I made these USA boards around 4 years ago. I had this grand idea of how they were going to turn out and be the perfect coveted 4th of July decoration. After we finished them uhhh yeah! they were nothing like what I had in mind, actually they were pretty pathetic looking! I think I put it out on my porch for 1 season and then was to embarrassed to put it up again after that. This USA board has been sitting in my 4th of July decorations container for the last 3 years. I pulled out the USA board again and was ready to put it…

America Star Slat Board
I know I am always talking about my amazing brother bringing me all this awesome wood! He consistently brings me his leftover hardwood flooring scraps! The best part is a lot of the time they are already cut into great lengths and some are even the same size! Yay for me! I am always finding new ways to use up this fun free wood. Sometimes I paint the floor slats and other times I love the wood look. For this project I decided to keep it the stained wood look. I took 3 pieces that were 15″ tall and glued them together. Next I cut a Star templet out of contact…

4th of July burlap pillow sleeve
I saw this idea for a pillow sleeve over here at the polka dot chair. Pure genius I tell you!!! Why didn’t I think of this! I used her sleeve idea, I created my own design. I need a new 4th of July pillow cover. I came up with some 4th of July words and created a templet and cut it on freezer paper using my personal cutting machine. I ironed the freezer paper templet onto my burlap sewn sleeve. Next I painted my template red. After the paint was dry I removed the freezer paper! Now I have a quick new way to decorate my pillows!

I found this darling idea for a framed ruffled burlap flag here. She has a really great tutorial showing how she made hers. I loved the idea with the burlap I wanted to give it my own twist, I also wanted a deeper red and blue color. I choose to use some 4th of July fabrics I had on hand for the red and blue sections of my flag. As I began gluing and ruffling layers. I felt like it still need something more. This is where the lace came in. I glued a layer of white lace in between my stripe layers. The lace just gave it one more…

It is just as big as the 4th so we keep all the patriotic décor up all month. My outdoor hanger is displaying a cute banner type project that my girlfriend and I created. We were inspired by this photo I wish I knew who did it so I could give them credit! I love being able to display my love for my country in this way!
