4th of July Shutter
4th of July Shutter Do you remember this cute Christmas Noel shutter I made last Christmas? Well I flipped that baby over and painted on a cute American Flag. This only took a little bit of time and you don’t even need a template to do the majority of this project. I love that one craft can double into another one! The base coat is done in white paint then every other slats of two are painted red. I do still need to do a little bit more overall touch up but you get the idea! The blue is a bit blotchy too but I keep doing touch up’s here…

Authentic Americana Block
Authentic Americana Block What’s more American than blue jeans? This next little project has the look and feel of a denim blue jean! I took a 2×4 block and painted it blue… then sanded the edges to give it a more rustic look. Then one night while sitting at Krystal’s we found this cute little design on Google images which led us to this Dribbble site. Of course Krystal worked her magic and came up with a version we could use on the blocks. This baby looks so cute up on my mantle!

American Flag made from a Pallet
Pallet American Flag There are some crafty people out there in the world that make things look so easy. This next project inspiration was found on none other than Pinterest. There were many variations of Pallet flags and each one was so adorable I figured it couldn’t be that hard! When the sun was setting my girlfriend and I jumped in my golf cart and cruised the neighborhood scoping out all the new homes that are in the construction mode. We were in hopes to find some pallets someone would give us to use for our project. We found a few in garbage piles covered in sheetrock mud but we…

4th of July wood fireworks wood plaque
4th of July fireworks wood plaque The 4th of July is just around the corner and I am excited to decorate for the season! On the scroll saw I traced and cut out some wood plaques in a whimsical shape and painted them red I used shapes and letters that were cut out on the cricut using contact paper. Once the paint was dry I applied the letters and shapes. Then painted them the colors I wanted. Once that coat was dry I added another layer to the letter portion and painted it once again. Along the way I stamped some circles etc. to look like fireworks and added glitter…

Star Paper Garland
In Utah the stars and stripes don’t go away after we celebrate the 4th of July. We prepare and get geared up for another holiday this month! The 24th of July is Pioneer day in Utah. Utah uses the 24th as a day to honor the Pioneers that made their trek out west here to Utah. The celebration is much like the 4th of July but in some towns even bigger. Firework displays, parades, Barbeques continue all month in our state. I made this cute Star garland out of paper on my sewing machine. I cut out 3 different sizes of stars on my cricut using red and blue cardstock.…

Red, White and Blue Cupcakes (The Big Book of Cupcakes)
Red, White and Blue Cupcakes are what I have been taking to 4th of July parties this year! With the help of The Big Book of Cupcakes I have been having fun creating great additions to any celebration spread! I also found some darling printable’s online from paper and pigtails that I printed out, cut out and added some scalloped 3″ punches to the back of. Glued on a sucker stick to each one and inserted them into the center of my cupcake! Now I am no professional in cupcake making by any means but I love what you can do with them! Cupcakes are perfect portion sizes for children…

Beadboard 4th of July Star
I am sure you have seen these all over blogland because they are quite popular this year! I decided to jump on the bandwagon and make some just because well I can AND how could you not they are SOO cute! I just traced a Larger star onto 2″ pine and then a smaller star onto beadboard. Cut out on the scroll saw, painted, sanded edges, antiqued, nailed together, added some wired to hang it, added a ribbon and there ya go! Very easy and festive! This took me less than an hour to do. After I did this I was told this same pattern is at the wood connection…
