Making sure I cover each detail may be a task! That being said I am sure this will take several blog posts. Displaying every item that went into planning and executing this party. DIY Polly Pocket Mini Cake Dresses
With summer fast approaching as a mom I am always looking for ideas to keep the kids busy. These DIY Polly Pocket Mini Cake Dresses will definitely keep the kids happy for a few hours. My daughter has been begging me for sometime to help her make a Barbie cake. After watching several tutorials with her I decided that they look like a bit of work. I also am not a huge fan of cake with a ton of frosting! I wasn’t too big on the idea of having a giant cake go to waste or letting my kids devour an entire cake and have a sugar rush! The other day my daughter had brought out her…

Family Tree cupcakes
Family Tree cupcakes If you have ever met my sister, you would find out very quickly she is a huge family history expert. She has worked for many family history companies, ran booths, conferences and has taught many classes. Not only does she work in the Genealogy and family history field it truly is her passion in life. I think it is amazing when you can combine work with something you love and are passionate about. Of course her love and passion is totally different than mine. I am sure by looking at this blog you know my love and passion is for all crafts and cooking. While I was…

April Fools Dinner
April Fools Dinner I love April Fools Day and it is just around the corner! Any ideas of what you will be doing for pranks??? Here is a fun dinner prank that I am sure the kids will enjoy! It’s a 4 course meal all made of cupcakes!!! Now, who wouldn’t enjoy that for dinner??? The idea came from one of my all time favorite cook books Hello Cupcake. I know these may look a little intense or time consuming, they really are not. They are actually really easy. To get the shape of the drum stick you use donut holes, that you frost on top of the cupcake. Then…

Faux Valentine Chocolate box
Faux Valentine Chocolate box Did you end up with a bunch of Christmas tins filled with goodies? Now what do you do with all those left over Christmas tins? Now you probably don’t feel like storing those tins for an entire year but wait! Before you throw them out or donate them to good will how about re-purposing them into a valentine gift? This is something the kids can help with and it makes a great gift for neighbors, grandparents or close friends. I purchased some valentines scrapbook paper some foam hearts and also cut out some hearts on the Silhouette machine. Next, I used the tins that I had…

My three daughters have birthdays within a month of one another so this year I combined the girls birthday and did a Luau. There are so many ideas, printables and recipes I used that I may break this post down into multiple posts to give you some instructions on how I did things. But here is a preview of the day! I hollowed out the pineapples with a pineapple corer and put fruit dip in them. I will post the pineapple fruit dip in a later post. Yes I made the cupcakes, frosted them and decorated them (along with 2 of my daughters) Someone thought I had bought them from…

Red, White and Blue Cupcakes are what I have been taking to 4th of July parties this year! With the help of The Big Book of Cupcakes I have been having fun creating great additions to any celebration spread! I also found some darling printable’s online from paper and pigtails that I printed out, cut out and added some scalloped 3″ punches to the back of. Glued on a sucker stick to each one and inserted them into the center of my cupcake! Now I am no professional in cupcake making by any means but I love what you can do with them! Cupcakes are perfect portion sizes for children…

Big Book of Cupcakes / Cookies and Cream Cupcake
Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting some awesome cupcake recipes from The Big Book of Cupcakes. I have decided cupcakes are my favorite. They are small enough portions for the little people in our lives but have enough “cake” to satisfy even an adult. I received this “Big Book of Cupcakes” recipe book (presented by Southern Living) and my kids poured over the pages deciding which cupcake recipe we would try first. I was just as excited to find big inspiration in these pint-size confections. In the Big Book of Cupcakes you will find the pages loaded with cupcakes for every season and occasion that are Easy…
