DIY Fresh Cut Flowers Rustic Outdoor Garden Sign
If one thing is certain we love making signs and we love using scrap wood to do it. The cheaper we can create a project the better it is on our crafting budget. This Fresh Cut Flowers rustic garden sign is no exception to using the wood floor planks that we do. Who can pass up free wood? Here is a quick and easy tutorial for this garden sign. First take 3 wood floor slats and cut them 22″ in length. Then glue the tongue and grooves together of each slat using wood glue. The wood flooring pieces are exactly 5″ in width. By putting all 3 strips together the…

Halloween glitter frames
These glitter frames are such a fun addition to your Halloween décor. They are very simple to make, and were a huge hit at our Halloween party this year. I couldn’t believe how many people wanted a glitter frame over some of the larger prizes we were offering. To make the glitter frames, I purchase several 5 x7 frames that have a thick or large frame or edge, I paid around .25 per frame. Next I bought some of the wooden design frames at my local craft store, depending on the design they can be .59-$3. I generally by the cheaper ones that are $1 or less. I spray painted…

Come What May and Love it Trendy Wood sign
Seeing these rustic wood trimmed signs all over the place just makes me really excited. Along with one of my favorite phrases Come What May and love it! One of the things I love about the rustic trend that is happening is not everything has to be or look perfect. The weathered wood over run paint and even texture gives these projects so much character. It is also a crafter’s dream to have a little paint run or not have it come out perfect and to be able to say oh I made it that way on purpose (wink wink)! Let’s give one of these wood trimmed signs a…

Baby Statistics Framed Gift
About a year ago I was commissioned by my sister in law to make a fun personalized baby gift, for her sister who had just had her first baby. The reason why this gift was even more special is these sister in laws of mine are twins!!! The craziest part is that I live in Utah and the sister in law who asked me to make something lives in Washington DC and her twin with the new baby lives in Oklahoma. It was quite the challenge understanding exactly what she wanted and then mailing out the final product without the gift giver even being able to see the finished product. She wanted all of…

Framed burlap & Fabric ruffled flag
I found this darling idea for a framed ruffled burlap flag here. She has a really great tutorial showing how she made hers. I loved the idea with the burlap I wanted to give it my own twist, I also wanted a deeper red and blue color. I choose to use some 4th of July fabrics I had on hand for the red and blue sections of my flag. As I began gluing and ruffling layers. I felt like it still need something more. This is where the lace came in. I glued a layer of white lace in between my stripe layers. The lace just gave it one more…

DIY Glittered picture frame stand
DIY Glittered picture frame stand I have a funny story about why I made this picture frame stand. The nurse’s at my sons Dr’s office had cupcakes waiting for us at our last appointment. They got in a little tiff about who in the office actually gave them to us. Afterwards I decided to make them something fun to put on their desks at work. I knew it needed to involve cupcakes some how. I have had a bunch of frames, candlesticks and these decorative wooden frames sitting in my craft room so, I decide to combine all of them to make this cute picture frame stand. First I painted…

“DIY” Gift shop clock
“DIY” Gift shop clock I was in a gift shop last week and fell in love with this clock. It was mounted on this cute chevron board. The price was out of this world. I decide I would give it a try and make one on my own. Plus, I thought it would help freshen up my home for spring and Easter! I love to change things around in my home and The white and teal color is so light and airy! During my Garage sale adventures. I found this clock and paper covered frame. I scored a serious deal. Because, it was late in the day the lady sold me these and some…

Framed Chicken Wire Easter Egg
Framed Chicken Wire Easter Egg Originally I saw a an ideas for this chicken wire frame on Studio 5. They had made a heart for Valentines day, and had done it using ribbon. I thought this was a great idea and that an egg shape should be pretty simple to make. I gave it a go using strips of ribbon at first. It turned out horrible!!!! you couldn’t even tell that it was suppose to be an egg and the colored ribbon didn’t go well together. I was totally bummed!!!! Then one day, while I was on a pinterest bindge! this similar idea showed up in my feed.…

Leprechaun Shoe’s
Leprechaun Shoes The idea of little Leprechauns running around is so magical especially for kids!!! I kept envisioning what kind of shoes or socks the little Leprechauns would wear. This is what I came up with and if the shoe fits, they would probably look like this. I cut the shoes on my silhouette machine and made little shoe buckles with a lot of gold glitter. I hand cut 2 rectangles and then tapered them at the bottom for legs, added green glitter on the legs to make striped socks. Next I glued the legs on some plaid patterned paper, then layered it onto a polka dot patterned…
