Cedar Planter Box for the deck

I found this awesome standing planter box plan on Ana White and fell in love! I immediately wanted one for my deck. So, I convinced my husband to make it for me.

He altered a few things on it. Our’s is longer and taller. I also had him add cedar along the bottom of the inside and then line it with plastic to protect the cedar. He also put 3 to 4 coats of sealer on the planter box to seal it from weather and from discoloring. I am thinking to preserve the wood we may have to do this the beginning of each season.  I love how it turned out!

Once it was lined with plastic he filled it with potting soil so I could plant flowers inside of it.

I cannot wait until my flowers all fill in and it is full of bright colors!
