Celebrate Spring – DIY Wood Round Décor
Join us in creating your own Celebrate Spring – DIY Wood Round Décor. You can also turn this into a door hanging by adding two screws and wire to the back. I would recommend at least an 18″ round if you are planning on putting it on your front door.
Supplies Needed:
We used a 12″ round pine board that we found at the dollar store. I know you can find different sizes and types of wood at either Lowe’s or Home Depot. Michael’s also carries them.
- Removable Vinyl – You will be using the vinyl as a stencil
- Personal cutting machine (Cricut or Silhouette)
- Paint brushes & Colors of paint you want to use
- Spring Flower SVG file found at Designbundles.net
- Weeding tool to remove small pieces of vinyl for your template
At the top of our flowers we removed the wording on their file and used our own phrase of “Celebrate Spring”. You can use the Merge feature if you choose to do your own wording.
As you can see in the photo below we did our Celebrate Spring by first painting it white then letting it dry. While drying we cut the stencil out on our personal cutting machine. Krystal was the mastermind of creating the template.
As you can see we cut the vinyl template, weeded out all the small areas, pressed the template onto our painted Wood Round and started painting.
This is what it looks like while painting.
Once dry you can peel the template off and look how darling it turned out. One tip Krystal and I have learned over the years is once you put the template on, do a thin coat of paint (the same color as you painted your wood round). Over the top of your template to seal so you don’t get bleed through. It also helps keep your lines clean.
