Christmas Countdown
I saw this idea of a Christmas count down when I did a google search although it wouldn’t link me back to any sort of blog to anyone who had made it. I searched and searched and search but came up with nothing! I loved the Christmas count down idea so much that on a Sunday morning one week ago. I was texting my best friend to tell her about it and when she didn’t respond I picked up the phone, called her and told her how excited I was about this crazy countdown idea I had. She fell in love with the idea also and by Tuesday we had it pretty much done.
One week later it is on my porch. We used the back side of our Halloween count down to save on space for storage and to save on wood costs. It’s been such a fun project that came together really fast.
This stands approximately 6 ft. tall and we learned to screw every cedar slat in place. Nails don’t hold up over time. We used left over spray chalk paint for the area to do numbers and found the frames at Michaels for .25 cents. Which we glittered red. I had some left over snowflakes from years ago that we glued on.
Making the template and painting it onto the board was probably the most difficult part. Krystal is awesome at creating the template and I can handle the wood part. I didn’t add numbers onto my chalk board portion yet but I know it will look cute once I do! The silly thing about this project was that neither of us had the color of green paint that we wanted so I kept mixing lime green with black then would add This ugly forest green. It ended up looking an avocado color and so we decided to bag green on this project!
