Large Four Foot Christmas tree family sign
This Christmas tree family décor sign was quite the feat to make.
My mother fell in love with this phrase and so wanting to surprise her with a fun Christmas gift . As you know by now I love to do things as cheaply as possible! I could have made this into a small sign but Krystal had an old billboard she had acquired on the side of her house. She was kind enough to cut a 4 foot section off of the end of it and since the backing was wood I just used the back of the billboard.
If you flip this Christmas tree family sign and look at the back you would see it is metal! ha! Painting the wood side completely white made if for a great canvas!
Assembling the Christmas Family Sign
The hardest part of this project is definitely cutting the vinyl on a personal cutting machine. As the machine only cuts 12″ x 24″ at a time. Therefore, this project was cut and then pieced into place. It also had to be cut in different sections to achieve the different colors of vinyl. Luckily the mastermind Krystal makes this task seem easy! We are always keeping that machine busy!
Next, is placing the vinyl to look good on the large board!
Placing the vinyl with the backing still on makes it easier to know how it will look when finishing. Weeding out the excess vinyl actually goes pretty fast!
Finally, along the top of the sign you can see we added some velvet burgundy ribbon and to add a little embellishing to the top. I knew exactly where this sign was going to go! Right on my mother’s front porch. I couldn’t wait to surprise her. This Large Four Foot Christmas Tree Family Décor sign was made for my mother in 2019 and has been displayed for several years.
