Dead and Breakfast Sign

I have an assortment of Better Homes and Garden magazines, cook books and emails that I hang on to because they always have something awesome to share!  Over a year ago I posted this Dead and Breakfast sign from Better Homes and Garden

After I pinned it I watched it get repinned and repinned over and over again that is how awesome it is. I fell in love with the sign and knew in October of 2012 that I would somehow create it in 2013.  And so it is…. The tracing of this project gave me fits and after I traced it multiple times onto the wood I brought my artistic 15 year old daughter down and she had it traced in no time. It was still a little off but between hubby and I we figured it out. Not only did we make one of these but of course we made two (can’t forget Krystal) She would be the one to master the template and paint this baby! We got it all cut out and assembled and then it sat for a few days. I left out of town and came home to it FINISHED AND HANGING ON MY POST!! Krystal had gone into my garage, gotten it, finished it and had it hanging for me when I got home.

We adorned the post and sign with some black crows that we found at the dollar store and love the addition it made to our Halloween décor. I could not find a tutorial on this nor dimensions so we just did it the size we felt would look good. I just recently pinned a morgue sign that would go really cute with this.. hmm maybe next year?
