Decorative Wooden Tags

When you are a hoarder of all things craft and decor related, often others unwanted items come your way. I can’t tell you how many times people call or text to see if I would like items they are getting rid of. When these large wooden tags were offered I didn’t hesitate to say Yes! I knew I could make some fun things with them. Instead of creating a seasonal decor item we decided to make them more of an everyday home decor style.

To create your own Decorative wooden tags you will need:

1″ wood boards

tag template

table/chop saw

drill

rope

paint (white)

paint brushes

personal cutting machine

desired design

vinyl (black)

transfer tape

Because the tags were gifted to me as a pre-cut raw wood, I was able to skip the wood cutting process. You will start by creating or finding a template of your desired size and cutting out the tag using a table or chop saw. Mark out the center top of your tag and drill a hole.

Paint your tag your desired color (I chose to paint all of mine white). Allow for drying time.

While your tag is drying choose the desired design and adjust measurements to fit your tag. Using your personal cutting machine cut design on vinyl (I chose black. Weed out Vinyl and apply a transfer tape. Center your design and apply the vinyl to your tag. Last thread the rope through the hole and tie off.

Where will your decide to display your new decorative wooden tag?
