DIY Summer Fun “Whale”come doormat

It seems that I have made doormats for almost every season and occasion, including these Halloween and Valentines doormats I made.  I was feeling like the summer doormat I had made several years ago just wasn’t cutting it anymore.  It is just too plain and boring for my summer decorating needs.  I wanted to create something that could go with my beach theme decor. While looking on lovesvg.com I came across this darling Whale Hello cut file,  I knew this was what I wanted to put on a doormat to go along with my beach themed decor. I downloaded the file and then got my supplies together and got to work!

To create your own DIY Summer Fun “Whale”come doormat you will need:

Doormat (I purchased mine at the dollar store)

Whale Hello cut file from Lovesvg.com

personal cutting machine

freezer paper

iron

paint (colors of your choice)

paint brushes

 

Start by downloading the free cut file from lovesvg.com, open the whale hello SVG file in your personal cutting machine program and resize to the desired size for your doormat.

Cut the design onto freezer paper.  Center the Whale hello freezer paper design and iron onto your doormat.

Paint design with desired paint colors and remove freezer paper before the design is dry.

Allow to dry. After the paint is dry display on your porch or in your home.  I placed mine outside on my porch but, this doormat could be fun in the kitchen, bathroom, or garage entrance.
