Gather Shutter

I took an old closet door shutter that I purchased at a garage sale.  Making  a template on the Silhouette is fairly easy! There are a lot of tutorials on you tube to make a template. This Gather template is cut out of contact paper.
The shutter was originally black so instead of painting two separate colors we decided to keep the actual word Gather black.
We aligned the letters on the shutter then painted around them

Once  done painting the mustard yellow color we peeled the letters off and did any necessary touch up to the letters / shutter. We also antiqued the shutter once the shutter was dry to give it a little more rustic look. The shutters stand about 7 feet tall.

It looks so cute on my front porch!
