Fall Harvest Wood Pumpkin

I know this may sound crazy but the dollar store has some awesome and cute deals. We found the leaves and the metal Harvest wording at the dollar store.

If you cut your own pumpkin you will want to make the pumpkin with a flat edge along the bottom.  This is so the pumpkin can either stand on it’s own or lean against something. I cut the pumpkin out of pine on my scroll saw and made sure the edges looked wavy like a pumpkin.  The versatility is endless on which type of wood you want to use. Once the pumpkin is cut you can sand down the edges of the sides and top.

Pumpkin orange paint I feel is the perfect paint choice and I painted the entire pumpkin in that color.  Using gold paint for the stem of the Pumpkin.  Once dry the embellishments came together really fast. A burlap strip wrapped around the pumpkin and glued and then another lighter green burlap strip wrapped around the top of the large piece of burlap.

After the burlap I just hot glued the cute dollar store metal Harvest word on to the top of the burlap. I love the metal Harvest word, because this pumpkin can be on display from September through Thanksgiving! Faux leaves can be purchased in a pack and broke apart to embellish your crafts. Our final touch is a cute little piece of rope tied into a knot and glued on to the stem. Perfect Harvest craft!
