Faux Valentine Chocolate box

Faux Valentine Chocolate box

Did you end up with a bunch of Christmas tins filled with goodies?  Now what do you do with all those left over Christmas tins? Now you probably don’t feel like storing those tins for an entire year but wait! Before you throw them out or donate them to good will  how about re-purposing them into a valentine gift?  This is something the kids can help with and it makes a great gift for neighbors, grandparents or close friends.  I purchased some valentines scrapbook paper some foam hearts and also cut out some hearts on the Silhouette machine.   Next, I used the tins that I had on hand and traced around them onto the scrapbook paper.  We cut out the shapes we  traced and onto the scrapbook paper then glued them onto the tins. We added some embellishments of  ribbon, hearts, buttons and jewels.  Now I have a really cute Valentines tin.  The next step was to fill our tins so, we decided to bake mini cupcakes and decorate them as if they were fancy chocolates! We used a few different varieties of store bought frosting , M&M’s, mini candy bars, Hershey kisses, Conversation hearts, and sprinkles.  Here is how one of our  faux box of chocolates turned out.  I’m sure our recipients will love our take on a box of Valentine chocolates!
