I love Shanty 2 Chic and all their creative wood projects. I followed this tutorial on making my floating shelf although I went Longer and thicker on my shelf. I also did not use our Kreg Jig. I felt no need to as all the nails and holes were inside of the base/frame of this project.

This project went really fast and was actually really pretty easy. Anything that is uses rough lumber and not much detail goes fast! The frame was up within 5 minutes after cutting the wood.

I hung mine above my office room door. I love how sturdy it is and how chunky! I even used the same walnut stain on my shelf as I do in most other projects around my home.

I am ready to build two more for above my jetted tub windows in my bathroom! They are simple, easy and will hold anything! The simplest Crafter can even make these!
