Guest – Ready Bathroom
My half bathroom in my home gets used a lot. It is the only bathroom (besides my master bathroom) on the main floor of my home. People do not want to walk upstairs to use my upper bathroom nor do they want to walk downstairs to use my basement bathroom and of course I’m not going to let them use mine 😉 So, I have a half bathroom to accommodate my guests. This is probably the most used bathroom in the house! During the summer time we host a lot of barbeques and this summer even a 3 day family reunion! With all the extra guests I want to keep my bathroom up to par with all the traffic so I took the time to make it a little extra nice for everyone!
I believe guests like coming into a nice restroom. People like an area of cleanliness so wipe that toilet down and make sure the floor is mopped! keep the counter free of clutter and mess. If your bathroom is small like my half bathroom is no one wants to be overwhelmed with busy patterns or wallpaper on your walls in such a small space. For a little color I added some color with a bath mat and some colored towels. Some may laugh but I do not like changing out my towels in the half bath! My kids call them the “no touch towels” They are more there for decoration! So instead we use the Kleenex Hand Towels. The Kleenex hand towels sit on my counter in this cute container I made to house them. I took a sheet of beadboard and traced the kleenex hand towel box. I added about 1/2 an inch to each edge of the beadboard so once put together the box of hand towels could still slide down into the container.
After I traced each edge of beadboard and cut the board out with the hand saw I glued the pieces together using liquid nails glue.
Once the edges were done drying I decided to paint the container a bright blue / turquoise color as I wanted to make sure it was bright and cheery! After two coats of blue I decided to cut out some lettering and add it to the front of the container so everyone knew they were hand towels!
Didn’t this turn out so cute???
While I was adding a little color to my bathroom I also decided a cute wall cabinet might be cute
I brought this home and added some blue towels to also add some color I also hung a framed mirror and also an iron key to the other wall.
Overall I had fun adding some touches to my bathroom. For guests make sure your bathroom is always stocked with extra toilet paper, your waste basket has been emptied and that there is a full container of hand soap. For after the hand washing don’t forget to keep a supply of Kleenex hand towels!
