Handmade Holiday Card Series “Day 5”

holiday card day 5

My 13 year old daughter Samantha loves snow globes and I can’t even count how many we have bought that have gotten broken or the liquid has evaporated. So, every time I see a snow globe I think of my little Sam. I saw a snow globe card last year and wanted to make one but never got around to it. So, this year I was bound and determined to make it! I have included a short tutorial on how I made this card.

I got the inspiration from Designs by Sharon Although I added some glitter and changed a few things on mine but I have to say hers was the original version! Such creativity!

So, I found my SVG template files for the snow globe at Birds Cards I threw it into Sure cuts a lot 3 and manipulated it until it all came together. I learned a lot about the weld feature by doing this card. Thanks Krystal for teaching me that one!

I used the stampin up bundled up stamp set for the “Brrr” tag. I also used white glitter embossing powder along the bottom of the card to give the snow a glittered look. To do the inside of the globe and have it show through I used transparency film to give it the glass look. I cut the snowflakes on the silhouette and covered them in tacky glue then dipped them in glitter. I used baker’s twine for the scarf. Can’t wait to give these away at card group this month!
