Holiday Home Décor Week “Christmas Plate, Frames and Shadowboxes”
I like to use Plates and frames when making home décor. It gives you a quick start on a project. I usually find my plates and frames at garage sales and the dollar store. Making these types of projects quick and inexpensive.
For the Grinch plate, I purchased the plate at the dollar store. I cut and layered vinyl on the plate.
I purchased the frame at a garage sale. I painted the frame white, then cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit inside. I purchased the gold glitter deer at the dollar store, and hot glued it on to the paper.
I found the Away in a Manger shadow box on Something Wilde. Decided to make one of my own. This is what you need to make the shadow box. 1 Shadow box, that’s right folks I paid a dollar for all 3 of those beauties. Wood grain scrapbook paper, or design of your choice cut to fit inside your box. Pre-cut vinyl and straw or raffia. First I tore apart my boxes, then painted the frames black. Next I cut my vinyl using my silhouette machine. Apply baby Jesus onto your scrapbook paper then glue paper into box, add desired amount of straw or raffia, then replace glass and frame and screw or glue back together.
Here is another Shadow box I made using the jingle all the way template. You can find instructions and purchase the cut file on Kerri Bradford

Those are some sweet ideas. I love shadow boxes but have not yet played around with them. I love your “Away in the Manger” shadow box. Sweet, simple, powerful. I think I know what we’ll be doing this weekend.

I just adore those ideas. They are all so sweet, but I’d love to make a shadow box since I don’t have anything like it in my house.
