Holiday Home Décor Week “Plethora of Christmas Pillows”
A girl can NEVER have too many pillows and there is nothing better than Decorative pillows to add accents to your home. By adding Pillows they quickly change the feel of any room. I used to stuff and stitch every pillow I made, then I quickly ran out of storage room for all these pillows I had made. I knew I needed to find a way to have as many pillows as I wanted without having to store so many and that is when I found the envelope style pillows, they changed my life! This is how I make all my pillows now. I have around 15 different pillow forms that I can change through out the seasons. Of course, I use every single one of those during Christmas time. Pillow covers are one of the quickest and simplest craft projects to make. This is probably why I have so many! Today I am going to share 3 different pillow ideas to make this holiday season.
This December 25th pillow was inspired by this stamp. I used my SCAL program to create a stencil, out of freezer paper and then sponge painted it on the pillow cover.
I found this idea for the fancy Deer pillow , except hers was made into an embroidery hoop. To make the pillow I created a stencil using SCAL and cut it out on my silhouette machine. I used the same freezer paper technique as mentioned above. I made the fabric flower and hot glued the jewels on.
For the present pillow, I simply sewed a plain envelope pillow cover. Then I tied some ribbon and bells on. Super simple! For the ruffle pillow. I stared with a plain white pillow cover. I sewed the giant ruffle, then hot glued it on the front and hot glued a ribbon down the center. Both pillows were quick and easy to make.
