How to make a Valentine Mailbox
Love is in the air and I have found a cute way to express your love to one another! I told my girlfriend the idea I had seen somewhere in blogland using tin mailboxes to create a way to deliver valentines to my children and giggling as I told her my idea she went to her “craft stash” and pulled out the exact tin mailboxes I was looking for! She had found them last year at Target for $1.00 a piece in their dollar section. I went by Target the other day and they have them again! So ladies if you want to track down these mailboxes head to Target! Anyways, She provided me with 4 in exchange for a lamp that has been sitting at my house waiting to be refinished. I know I won’t get around to it so why not give it to her? I came home and spray painted 4 glass candlesticks (from the dollar store) in a gloss black. Once they were dry I glued them onto the bottoms of the mailboxes (using e6000) Added a cute letter representing the first letter in each of my children’s names (out of vinyl but you could also use a black sticker letter if you do not have something to cut vinyl) Then I added a glittered sticker to the side of each mailbox.
I can’t wait to leave little treats and goodies in these mailboxes for my kids in February! I love watching them find new surprises each day!

Very cute. I will have to look for mailboxes at garage sales next summer (as I am too cheap to pay Target prices.) I bet I could find something at a craft store somewhere (and use a half off coupon!)

At Target they were only $1.00 a piece. I did see some similar at a local craft store but they wanted $ 3.00 a piece! I though Targets were pretty cheap.
