Luck Burlap Board
Luck Burlap board
I also found this cute idea on burton avenue blog. Once again her free cut file has expired but maybe because I am only 2 years late finding this cute idea. Really, this is quite a simple project to accomplish. I typed the word LUCK into my silhouette program and used my own fonts to create a template. I cut my template onto freezer paper and made a stencil. Then I painted a board I cut to the same size as my template. I grabbed this fun lime green paint and painted my board. I cut a square of burlap to match the size of the board I cut. Then headed over to the ironing board to iron out the wrinkles in my burlap and to iron on my freezer paper template to the burlap.
Iron on your freezer paper template. Then get ready to sponge paint over your letters. I chose to paint mine black so it would be a little more bold. This could be fun in a darker green paint or you could glitter it too!
let your paint dry and then peel off the template. Next apply mod podge to the back of the burlap, then press it onto your painted board and let it dry.
I used these gold thumb tacks that I purchased from the dollar store for some corner accents. I hammered them onto the corners of the burlap and finished this project up by gluing on some glittered green shamrock décor pieces. I have had them for several years and finally found something to add them onto.
