Moroccan Chest Makeover
If you follow this blog. I am sure you have noticed that Avry and I are huge garage sale/ thrifters. I love to create things on the cheap! Anytime I can save a buck I do! When people ask me what my style is I like to refer to it as Garage sale glam and sometimes when you are thrifty it requires a little effort and work on your part. I also love to give items my personal touch and to have the feeling of accomplishment when the project is complete. With all that said I found this great chest at a yard sale for $10. I was going to leave it how it was but, the colors weren’t really working with what I already had in my family room. I taped off sections that I wanted to keep and left open the red spaces. I took this beauty outside and spray painted it with purple paint. After it was dry I peeled back the tape, and then went over the yellow lines with a gold sharpie marker. I am still trying to decide if I am going to add a design in the boxes. For now I love that a little spray paint and a sharpie marker could take this piece to a whole new level. It matches my Moroccan style family room now!
