Old fashioned Denim USA Banner
For some reason I have a ton of old Denim jeans laying around my house. My son is incredibly hard on pants and often tears or splits the seams. Throwing away good fabric is not something I like to do especially when just the seam ripped out. Saving them for over a year, I finally decided I need to come up with a project to use some of them. This is where my idea came in to play to create an Old Fashioned Denim USA Banner.
To create your own Old fashioned Denim USA Banner you will need:
Old Denim Jeans
Cuttle bug machine and banner die cut/ or paper banner template
Patriotic fabric scraps or ribbon
Jute rope
hot glue gun and glue
personal cutting machine with fabric blade
Start by cutting your denim into pennant banners using either your cuttle bug machine and banner die-cut or a paper template and hand-cut with scissors.
Next, create the USA letter design using your personal cutting machine or a paper template. Cut USA out of desired Patriotic fabric (I choose a red fabric), glue USA fabric pieces in the center of each pennant banner using hot glue.
Then cut 16 strips of patriotic fabric in 3/4″ by 6″ pieces. Also cut 4 pieces of jute at 4″, take 4 strips of fabric tie the jute around the center of the fabric to create a streamer.
Lay USA pennant banner with back towards you and about 1 inch apart. Using the hot glue gun, glue jute along the back of the pennant banner pieces; leaving long strands of jute on each side.
Finally, turn the banner over and tie the streamers on each end and in between each pennant banner piece.
I am loving how simple and classy this old fashioned denim USA banner turned out.
If you make one where do you plan on displaying it in your home?
