Don’t you just love spray paint?  Spray paint is one of those life changing products that once I started using it on crafts (10 or more years ago)  I just couldn’t stop painting everything with spray paint and I would have to say it is one of my top favorite crafting products!  I love how many colors they make it in and recently started purchasing the metallic line of  paints.  I purchased the gold spray paint and love it!

My husband brought home this fun little owl to me.  As much as I love spray paint I love owls even more.  My husbands boss was throwing this cute little guy in the trash and  he rescued it for me (Thank goodness I have taught him well).  His bosses daughter had started painting it at one of those pick and paint businesses but then decided she didn’t like it and had left it in her dad’s car.  You know how guys are he was sick of it floating around the car and almost threw it out. I was delighted when I hubby brought it to me but it need some help!

At first I spray painted it white and then tried to highlight the eyes, nose, and feet with a gold sharpie marker.  When the marker dried it turned this weird yellowish color and I wasn’t very happy with it.  So it sat around here for a little while until I decide to try spray painting the whole owl gold!  It seriously took me 2 minutes to spray paint him and I was in love!  I love how a little spray paint and a few minutes can turn an item into a statement piece.
