DIY Easter Egg Burlap Table Runner
Avry and I are table runner kind of gals. I don’t know about you but, I always love have different runners to put on my table. I love to change the up for each season or holiday. As I was going through my stack of runners I noticed I didn’t have an Easter themed one. The last few years I have been putting on a multi colored one or a burlap and lace runner that is an all occasion one. I had seen a burlap runner with white Easter eggs around the edges at a gift shop the week before and decided I need to create something similar for my own table.
I purchased a cream color burlap and cut it to fit the length of my kitchen table. Next I cut a scallop design out of freezer paper using my personal cutting machine. My table runner is 24″ wide, I assembled the scallops so 5 would fit across the 24″ of burlap. I ironed on my scallop template and trimmed both ends into the scallop design. Everyone knows that burlap comes apart really easy, I knew I need to secure the edges of the my runner. I couldn’t get my surger to work so, I headed over to my moms house. I started surging around the table runners, I was having difficulty going around the scallops with cutting them off and messing them. I really wanted the scallop design, my talented seamstress mom came and helped me out by surging around the scallops.
Once I was back home, I purchased this cute egg template and cut the eggs designs out of freezer paper using my personal cutting machine. I ironed the egg outline into each scallop of the runner and the painted each of the eggs different bright spring colors. If you know me at all I am a bright loving color girl! I do love the look of fresh plain white but, it’s just not me and doesn’t fit my home decorating style. I let the colored egg outlines dry and then ironed on the design template. I painted the designs in white over the colored eggs.
I am in love with my new burlap Easter egg runner! I love having new home décor items to display!
