Recipe For a Happy Marriage Shower Gift Basket Idea

Its official Wedding season is upon us! The older I get every spring I start getting those fun shower and wedding invitations in the mail.  I always try to think of fun clever shower and wedding gifts that would also be helpful to the new couple just getting started.  Years ago I purchased this cookbook Dining on a dime,  It has so many great tips and even gift ideas inside.  I remembered seeing this fun little recipe poem card in the cookbook and thought it would be fun to create a kitchen themed basket. Then attach the Recipe For a Happy Marriage card onto the basket.

Here are some ideas to create your own Recipe For a Happy Marriage Shower Gift Basket:  I purchased 5 piece metal pan set, glass bowl set, Muffin Tin, Dish towels, easy to make food items, and a large tub or tin to put items into.  The great thing about this type of gift is you can customize it depending on how well you know the couple. You could add kitchen items off their registry or favorite food items, and a cookbook into the basket.  I did not know this couple extremely well so, I picked basic items that I thought would be useful for a newly married couple.

Assemble your basket by adding large or heavy items in the bottom and back of the basket or tin.  Then add smaller items on top and in the front of the basket.

Use cellophane or a basket bag to wrap up and around the gift basket.  I used several ribbons and created a tag using the Recipe For a Happy Marriage poem.

I tied the ribbons and poem on the front of the gift basket.  It was fun to watch the brides face as she looked at all of the items and the fun recipe tag.
