Shaped Pallet Snowman for sale sign
I am still not ready for Valentines yet! I have been having fun dreaming up ways to decorate in January. Here is the latest decoration that I have made. I saw something with the cute saying “Snowmen for sale Cheap! Assembly required”. It was just a plain old board. I loved the idea of snowmen for sale. I came up with this fun way to display it.
To create my fun snowman sign. I used 3-4 pallet boards, I laid the boards next to each other and then free handed a snowman shape on them. Next I cut the boards using a jigsaw (it’s ok if they are not perfect or even, we are creating a rustic snowman). I white washed the boards with some leftover paint. While he were drying, I created a template with the wording using my personal cutting machine. I cut some of the wording in black vinyl and some in blue vinyl. After the boards were dry, I turned they over and arranged them back into the snowman shape. I cut 3 pieces of leftover wood to be used as bracing for the back of the snowman. I drilled pilot holes through the brace board and into the snowman shape. Then I nailed and glued each board in place. I want my snowman to be really sturdy.
After the snowmen were put together, I applied the vinyl lettering. Last I applied a layer of Mod podge over the entire snowman and coated him with a layer of clear glitter (a snowman needs to glisten). At this point I was thinking he was done. He seemed a little plain. Avry came over and we kept thinking he need something. She suggested we add a scarf, I had the perfect snowflake ribbon for the scarf. Then we took him up one more notch by adding the cute snowflake and jewels.
As long as there is snow on the ground, I will be keeping Mr. Snowman on my porch.
