Shiplap Happens Wooden Sign

I can’t remember where I saw this funny sentiment. I knew immediately I needed it on some kind of sign. If I was turning it into a sign it needed to look like shiplap!

To create your own Shiplap Happens wooden sign you will need:

Scrap wooden pieces (leftover wood floor, palate, or fencing)

Lathing or trim strips to create a frame

Chop saw

Nail gun

wood/liquid nail glue

White Paint

Paint brush

vinyl (I used white)

personal cutting machine

Start by cutting 2 of your scrap boards the same length. I made several signs and cut them in all different sizes.

After your cut, your mainboards measure and cut the lathing or trim strips to fit around the edges of your sign.

Using a nail gun nail your 2 mainboards together and, your frame pieces together.

Paint your frame white or desired color. You could also paint or stain your main board.

Use the wood or liquid nail glue to secure your mainboards and frame to each other.

While your wooden sign is drying create a Shiplap happens template using your personal cutting machine.

Cut your wording onto desired vinyl color, I used white vinyl. Weed out vinyl wording apply to transfer tape center and apply onto wooden framed board.

How cute is your new sign? Do you have shiplap wall to place it on? How do you like to decorate your home?
