Snowflake pillows
Avry and I decided to make some fancy snowflake pillows as a girl can never have too many pillows! Plus like I said before, pillows can change the feel of a room. We used the same envelope style to make all these pillows. For the first pillow, we chose a white satin fabric, then I pinned and sewed my envelope pocket on the back of the pillow. Next I used my silhouette machine to cut some blue felt into a snowflake design. Did you know your silhouette can cut fabric too? This was my first time using my machine to cut fabric. I will do it again! So easy, I found a great tutorial on how to cut fabric
After I cut out the snowflake, I used Mod Podge to glitter it up. I let it dry and then hot glued the snowflake on the pillow and also glued a jewel onto the center. Most people would hand stitch the snowflake on but for non a non sew version this is the way to go. Plus if I was going to have this be a year round decoration I would sew it. For my seasonal crafts, I like to do a few quick short cuts!
The second pillow I made a long skinny one. I used the envelope pocket for the base. I chose a simple gray cotton fabric. The snowflakes are felt cut outs that were purchased at the dollar store and donated to us by Avry’s mom. I hot glued them on and hot glued a gray pearl in the center. Nice and easy!
For the third pillow, I picked out a light blue satin fabric. Once again I used the envelope pocket for the base. I cut this fancy snowflake on the silhouette machine with heat transfer vinyl. I ironed on the snowflake and then placed and hot glued jewels onto the pillow. Another fun fast easy pillow project.
