Storage style Alexia Bench with drawers
Let’s take a little blast to the past. How about October of 2014 to be exact when I found the plans of a darling little storage style bench with drawers online and I just had to make it!
It’s been 3 1/2 years since this storage style bench was made and still to this day I get asked about it all the time. First off if you know anything about me at all you’ll know that I am not good at watching tutorials. Why? Mainly because I can’t stand doing things how other’s do things. I am me! I like to do it my way.
Give me a set of plans and boom you’ve got me! Maybe because not only did I grow up with a father as an Architect. Also because my brother is an Architect AND I work in construction development.
So I most likely will rush through someone’s tutorial and look for a set of plans or a recipe that is why I adore Ana White. Not a lot of fluff with her – just the basics and a set of plans. Ana White is where I found the set of plans for this storage style bench.
I most likely won’t caulk like you will, nor will I measure like the next blogger. Heck I won’t even remember half of the tools names I use! But I can follow a print out of plans.
I also dislike tutorials because I am terrible at taking photos throughout the process of making a project. Who has time to stop and click photos when you are on a roll? Ha! I will try better because I know a lot of my readers want tutorials!
You can find the cute oil rubbed bronze pulls on Amazon.
I also stained this bench using Minwax Dark Walnut stain.
So… even though this bench was made in 2014 hasn’t it held up well? I store blankets in it for when I’m cold and want to cuddle up on the couch in front of my fireplace.
