Summer Lovin’ watermelon sign
Always having a piece of wood painted comes in handy. Especially when making this Summer Lovin’ watermelon sign. My first piece of advice when crafting is always to have square wood pieces cut, painted and ready to go. This piece is an easy make when you already have pre-painted wood blocks or boards. There are a lot of free SVG’s you can find online. I look on Pinterest and google. Find an SVG of a Watermelon, which font you want to use and watch a cute sign come together.

Celebrate Spring – DIY Wood Round Décor
Join us in creating your own Celebrate Spring – DIY Wood Round Décor. You can also turn this into a door hanging by adding two screws and wire to the back. I would recommend at least an 18″ round if you are planning on putting it on your front door. Supplies Needed: We used a 12″ round pine board that we found at the dollar store. I know you can find different sizes and types of wood at either Lowe’s or Home Depot. Michael’s also carries them. At the top of our flowers we removed the wording on their file and used our own phrase of “Celebrate Spring”. You can use the…

Repurposing an old door for the front porch
I obtained this old door through a friend’s friend. Ha-ha! That probably sounds a little confusing but somehow it ended up at my house and I thought to myself “This has potential”. Although, I didn’t know what I would end up doing with it once I got it all done I knew it would still be darling! First, I wiped and sanded the entire door down then wiped it again. Then I puttied the holes, dings and dents and let dry overnight. I then sanded the putty spots and smoothed them out. I next, taped off the center of the door and painted it gray. No, I did not put…

Large Gather Glass Framed Wall Décor
How many times do you see a used frame and pass it up or get rid of it because you have no use for it? This Large Gather Glass Framed Wall Décor is an upcycle! Krystal is the queen of finding treasures and when we both saw this beauty we knew it could be fabulous. Frames can be used in so many ways but this time I fell in love. Sometimes I fall in love with the things we make and it is hard to give them away. Krystal took the frame and cleaned it up then chose to paint it a light teal color. Once she chose the paint…

Octagon Bee Happy wood Signs
This project is definitely one that is fun for summer! Check out these Bee Happy wood Signs with an Emphasis on the “Bee” part. Bee’s are fun to decorate the home with especially if they are Honey Bee’s. I’ve seen a lot of bee décor pop up over the past few years and thought it would be fun to jump on board. Using any type of wood is fine for this project you will just need a saw to cut the octagon shape. Using any other shape will work too but we think the Octagon was something unique and different. The size of the sign is also up to the…

Decorative Wood Christmas Tree
Tis the season for Christmas trees! This next project came to us in the way of a gift. A miniature version of this wood Christmas tree was given to Krystal a few years ago as a gift. When I laid my eyes upon it I fell in love and wanted to make our own version. To make one of these trees for yourself follow our simple tutorial. Supplies you will need: 3/4″ Pine (Wood) to cut the tree out of. Dimensions of the tree are 6 1/2″ along the bottom of the triangle. Each side is 12″ long and meet at a point. I hand drew a template and then…

Planked Wood Faux Shiplap Accent Wall
There are so many cute walls in homes right now! I’ve seen Shiplap, Planked, Board and Batten and even some darling wall paper! So much creativity out there so of course I just had to jump on the bandwagon! Shiplap is gorgeous but to purchase the actual stuff can be quite pricey, especially if you are doing a large wall. So game on! Finding a cheap way to plank a wall in my home without it breaking the bank. Take note that I also did this wall during the holidays (between Thanksgiving and Christmas) and I am barely posting about it! Yep! I am a little behind. Here is…

Upcycling an old hutch / curio cabinet
Every year for Christmas my family rotates names and this year I am lucky enough to have my sister and her family. My sister moved into a new home and struggles with decorating it. So, for me it is easy to have a million ideas as to what I could give her. While visiting her home recently she complained of some television wires hanging out of her wall. Making a promise to her that I would help her figure out how to cover the wires. I stumbled across this Curio cabinet on our local classifieds for $65.00 and decided to Upcycle it for my sister.
