The Project that won’t go away
2 years ago my husband decided he was going to build a doll house for the girls. I thought I had previously posted about it but I couldn’t find it. He got about half way through it and decided he was done. Looking at the doll house I knew he wasn’t done. There were no doors or windows, it wasn’t painted, and it didn’t have all the fu fu a little girls doll house should have. Well when we moved and started building our new house EVERY project got put on hold. Now that we have time again projects have resumed but this project just won’t go away.
Justin decided to get carried away with the doll house and added beadboard to every room, which has made it not so fun to paint. He also added shutters and a balcony to the front of it. All I wanted was a door and some windows but it is okay it looks cute! I also told Justin to put some stairs into it but I think in a man’s mind stairs look like a ladder.. Shhh don’t tell him I said that I should just be grateful he tends to any of my requests right??
I haven’t liked trying to paint the inside of the doll house so Miss motivation Maeli has jumped in on the project. If I could get all three girls motivated on this project it would maybe get done faster!
Maeli looks like she is about ready to give up also!
But she won’t she is just like me and loves to paint and craft.
I did get the exterior of it painted but it took nearly a day to do just that. I would like to add some cute little house numbers and perhaps some color to it. I didn’t want to spend much money so I used what paint I had at home. Plus neutral colors are in right? 😉
My mind keeps adding more and more to this doll house. My brother in law is giving me shingles to put on the roof of it so hopefully I can get that part of it done. I also have some left over carpet pieces that I would like to nail down into it & maybe make some cute little curtains for it. If I could just get the darn painting done on it!
Stay tuned this project just may someday get finished!!
