Thumb tack Hello board
With the weather warming up and daylight staying longer, I get the itch to create and decorate my home with bright colors. I decided to make a simple board to set on my entry table as a cheery welcome. I decide just to use the simple “Hello” on my board. First I dug into the scrap wood pile and then cut some boards 5 inches by 10 inches. I painted the boards white and let them dry. Later I taped off lines across the boards and then gave them a coat of coral paint. I removed the tape before the coral paint was dry to create a stripe on the boards.
I sanded the edges of the boards off and then cut the word “Hello” in black vinyl using my personal cutting machine. I applied the vinyl diagonally across my striped board. I could have stopped at this point and the board was darling just like this. I decided to pound some gold thumb tacks along the “hello” wording. It only took a few minutes to pound in the tacks and I love the 3D effect and glam it gave this fun bright sign.
How will you be brightening up your home for summer?
