Upcycled pie / cake platters
I love knowing that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure or in my case – girls treasure. Look at these old candle holders! Yes they aren’t the cutest now but wait until you see what I created with them!
I found an old wooden plant stand at a garage sale, I brought it home and tore it apart. I used each tier of the plant stand for the round top on a cake platter. I matched up different candle stick bases to the size I thought would look good
I picked out scrapbook paper that I wanted to use and the colors of paint. I painted the stands and tops once they were dry I modpodged the scrapbook paper to the tops then glued the bases to the tops. I was rather happy with how they turned out!
I went with quite a few different colors but all somewhat coordinating so I could use them all at the same time if needed to.
Now what should I put on them? dessert anyone??

Those turned out SOOOO good! My favorite is the yellow one. These would make awesome gift ideas, too! You could very easily make one that fits specifically with friends’ kitchen decor.

This is really neat! I have a bit of a hobby ‘upcycling’ things too and this is the first time I’ve seen that there is a word for that . 😀
