Valentine fabric heart shaped wreath

Fabric Heart Shaped Wreath

I found this idea on Little Birdie Secrets and followed her tutorial just as described. It was super fast and super easy! I do have to admit though tracking down heart shaped foam wreaths was difficult. NO ONE carried them and it took me looking at three different JoAnn’s stores to finally find one!

I had some scraps of fabric that I had purchased at a garage sale last summer to make this wreath.  I used my cutting mat to cut the 2×2″ squares.   The cutting of the squares went really really fast.  Once all squares were cut I used a pencil, wrapped the fabric around the tip of the pencil and began poking those squares into the wreath.

You can see here that they poke in very easily.  I actually dipped each tip into glue before poking it into the wreath because I didn’t want the fabric falling out.  Here you can see the start of my wreath.

Once I got going the wreath went really fast. As long as the kids didn’t disturb me! 😉
Once all fabric was poked into the wreath I hot glued a ribbon onto the back and hung it over my living room mirror. Very cute indeed! There were a few bald spots on the wreath that I noticed once it was hung up so I took it back down (after these pictures) and added more fabric. You could make this very very full!
