Valentine shadow box
Valentine Shadow box
My inspiration for this shadow box came from this darling card. I had thought about making a similar card using the same idea. I loved the idea so much, that I wanted it to be a lasting decoration. I had this shadow box that I was going to use at Christmas time (I picked up at our local thrift store for $2.00) but, I never got around to doing it. I decided to use the shadow box for this project. I thought I would never say this but I am loving gold right now. I pick this gold glitter polka dot paper for the background in the shadow box. . I painted the frame of the shadow box pink, then filled it with some candy conversation hearts and placed the finished back on. I cut the “call me maybe” on my silhouette machine using white vinyl and then cut the phone using pink vinyl. Then I simply added the cut vinyl on the front of the glass. I love how it turned out and I am so happy I decided to make it into a lasting décor piece.

Haha I’ve never made a shadow box. My sister Jackie, who is the co-writer on the blog, is obsessed with that Call Me Maybe song. I should make that one for her. I realize I should get creative and not copy yours of course, but I’m not creative. LOL.

SO cute! I love shadow boxes! I’d fill mine with coins (like an old pay phone) because we have issues with ants.

That shadow box is just adorable. I wouldn’t want to fill it with conversation hearts though because it would make it challenging to eat them.

This is so cute and easy and a perfect craft to do with the kiddos. I can’t wait to try my hand at making my own shadow box!

It looks great! I really like all the conversation hearts in the shadow box. The great thing, though, is that you can fill it with whatever you can think of.

Well that’s really neat. My girls could totally sit down and do a craft like that.

I need this decoration in my house. Too cute. I need to start watching for discounted stuff that I can repurpose. I just always see an ugly frame or decoration and pass.
